Friend
My friend Lauri is a strong, beautiful, and adventurous woman who moved to Kasilof, Alaska thirty years ago. I met Lauri in Tempe, Arizona a very long time ago. She was then and still is an unusually independent person. She wanted a different kind of life than what is found in most American cities and towns. She longed for open space, plenty of freedom and NOT ordinary opportunities. Her parents had taught her self-reliance from an early age. Now, living on the bounties of the land and the sea, she has carved out for herself a remarkable life. These are a few of the stories from the far north.
